How Do I Choose the Right Car Detailing Products?

Most people walk into a store or scroll through Amazon looking for the “best” car detailing products and end up overwhelmed by endless options and marketing claims.

Here’s the truth most detailers won’t tell you: the right product isn’t always the most popular, the most expensive, or the one with the flashiest label.

The right product is the one you’ll actually use regularly because it’s easy and enjoyable.

My First Question Is Always the Same

When someone asks me how to choose the right products, the first thing I ask is: “What tools do you already have at home?”

This matters more than most people realize.

If you have a pressure washer and a foam cannon, then a car shampoo like Incredible Suds makes perfect sense. But if you don’t have that equipment, pushing a traditional car soap on you would set you up for frustration. In that case, I’d steer you toward a high-quality rinseless wash instead.

The goal isn’t to sell you the most products. It’s to give you the ones that match your current setup, are simple to use, and actually increase the chances you’ll maintain your vehicle consistently.

Why does this matter so much to me?

Because when clients bring me regularly maintained vehicles, I don’t have to charge them extra for heavy contamination. Everyone wins.
